About Me
Hi! I'm Chantal, I've been born and raised in Thunder Bay and can think of no other place I'd like to start my practicing Psychotherapy. I came from a humble upbringing that has granted me resiliency and experience to help others through their complex journeys. In my experiences I have learned how to live and understand both sides of mental health, by working on myself with love and support, while using the tools that have been passed down to me. Through my journey, I have learned the importance of self-forgiveness, compassion, and acceptance, all virtues I hold dear in my holistic approach.
I graduated from Lakehead University in 2019 with my HBA in Psychology, BA in English, and a minor in Women's Studies. Since 2020 I have been working on my Master of Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University, planning to graduate in 2023. I plan on doing my practicum in a local pain management clinic where I will help facilitate individual and group counselling, and psychoeducation.

My approach will pull from the humanistic and cognitive principles of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CPT). It is my goal to one day be certified in all these domains, as well as specialized services, such as Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Narrative Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, and Sex Therapy.
My main areas of interest and experience are in depression, anxiety, health and pain management. My growing interests include working with the mind-body connection, personality disorders, eating disorders, and overall personal and professional development.
